Picture 468...

EY BUDDY!

How y’all been?

I’ve been.

That’s all.

Now I’m confused.

What was I doing…..

……………..

………..

……

.

EY BUDDY!

Do you how do?

I’ve been having a busy busy month… or two.

No, it’s been a month.

My birthday was the last post.

A month and half.

Things have been moving along.

Did a lovely sunset shoot at this fancy place.

It was gorgeous!

The work has lightened up a bit.

Which is why I was able to finish the project that you’re about to see.

But now things have picked up again.

So it’s off and on.

My pay did get cut in half, so things did slow down.

Speaking of money, I’ve been planning things out.

I tried to get a credit card to build up my credit.

My credit score is awful because of the hospital bills.

But they wouldn’t give me a card because my score was bad.

I KNOW IT’S BAD, THAT’S WHY I NEED TO CARD TO HELP FIX IT.

Anyways, I saw the medical bills that were causing the low score and paid them.

I paid off all the bills.

It wasn’t as high as I thought.

I remember when I got the bill at the hospital for $1700.

I told them that I can’t pay it.

So they gave me the forum for financial medical aid.

I filled it out and did all the requirements only for them to not give it to me.

So I didn’t pay it.

But now that I looked up my account again, it said it was only $300.

Whatever works!

I don’t mind!

Now I need to build up the credit so I can get a place.

I need to leave this house.

I need…. SPACE.

I’m going to space.

YES!

ANYWAYS!

As I mentioned, I was able to finish a project I started back in April.

HERE IT IS!

Ain’t that neat!!?

You might be asking… isn’t that tree at your house?

It took you 5 months to shoot a photo at your own house.

YES! IT DID!!!

Back in April, I started the Yellow Project but then the world closed.

So I thought of something I could do at home.

Thus, the iPad project was born!

It’s been a while since the first one.

The goal was to make a photo using nothing but the iPad.

That also goes for the videos.

All making of videos had to be shot on the iPad.

It’s a simple concept.

So you ask again… WHY DID IT TAKE 5 MONTHS!?

Well, mentally I haven’t been filling to cheery.

The world is totally different right now.

Rules and restrictions are in place for a virus.

The wildfires are causing a permanent haze in the sky.

It’s an election year and both sides suck.

Chaos, riots, people dying, lives ruined.

Things aren’t that fun right now.

So I just haven’t felt motivated to do anything.

That is why my last picture before my birthday was me being all sad.

I couldn’t think of an idea for the iPad and I didn’t have the will to try.

But once I did the last project, I realized I could have done that on the iPad.

Mirroring is an easy thing to do.

Now that the iPad has Photoshop, anything is possible.

I downloaded it and did a test…

THAT’S ART RIGHT THERE!!!

So that got the gears turning again.

Once things slowed down, I had time to do something.

Not only shoot the photo, but edit the video and get everything ready.

And that’s where we are today!

I’ve been thinking about doing this photo for a while.

Ever since I shot last year’s birthday photo, I knew this tree would look good mirrored.

But I did want to do a simple mirrored imaged.

I wanted to add some spicy.

I thought, instead of mirroring the same photo… I could shoot two photos and just flip one of them.

As long as the camera didn’t move, I’d get the same results as if I’d just copy and paste the same photo.

But using two photos allowed me to have….two different me’s!!

BOOM!

Jerry makes his return!

Too bad it’s just for the photo.

The video is already long enough and I didn’t think of a good way to incorporate him.

I do still have some other ideas that involve him, stuff I’ve been planning for a while.

I did shoot a video almost three years ago.

I never uploaded it.

I don’t know why.

It’s a great video, but I just never uploaded it.

So I’m reworking it.

Maybe there was something in the script I didn’t like.

But now I need a place to shoot it.

There are too many people here.

Holding me back.

This is why I want to move out.

I’ll have my own space to do what I want to do.

ANYWAYS!!!

I’m rambling.

This photo was easy to do.

Lean on the tree, shoot on the photo, lean on the tree, do it again.

SEE!

The editing did get a bit tricky.

The mirroring part was easy, just like on the computer.

But I didn’t like how crisp the background was.

I wanted some blur.

So I went in and masked around the two of us.

Which was super fun on the iPad.

I used a stylus and just painted the mask in around us.

Much better than the computer!

Then I made a copy of the background and blurred it.

Not too much though.

After that, I switched over to Lightroom and did the final color adjustments.

COMPARE!

Hover your mouse (the computer one :-P) over the original picture to see the after editing one.

If you're on a touchscreen device, just tap on the picture. You may have to tap more than once.

That compared the blur that I added to the background.

That compared the color adjustments that I did.

All this was done on the iPad!

Technology has come far.

ONTO THE VIDEO!

The video is long, because a lot of things happen.

It covered me getting a new phone, a new computer, a new desk, and eventually shooting the photo with all it’s editing.

THERE’S A LOT!

5 ½ hours unedited that I got down to 41 minutes.

NOT TO BAD!

Also at the end, I talk about future projects.

You can CLICK HERE to see the video or watch it below.

That’s all.

I mentioned the Yellow Project earlier.

I wanted to get that done, but there's nothing really… yellow.

BUT!! IT JUST HIT ME!!

I’ve pushed it off for so long to now Fall!

Autumn if you want to get all technical.

Things turn yellow then!

I see some potential.

Look forward to that!

Some other projects might come out before that.

Maybe one with…. A certain VHS camera that I have?

Maybe.

I’LL SEE YOU THEN!!!
