So…….
This post was supposed to come out a while ago.
Like a week after the last post.
AND IT DIDN’T!
WHY!??!
WHAT DID YOU DO?!?
I knew I shouldn’t have trusted you!
Anyway, I was just so busy.
Things have been packed with the job recently.
I’d come home and pass out.
We got to Thursday, which is my day off.
What did I do?
Did I type this post and upload the video?
OBVIOUSLY NOT!
I was planning on it though.
But I just ended up relaxing for once.
That’s why I have the day off in the middle of the week.
It gives me a chance to take a break.
It got to 7pm and I didn’t have the video uploaded.
It wasn’t going to be up in time.
So I was going to do it Friday.
I uploaded the video in the morning and was going to get the blog post done throughout the day.
But then the day went downhill.
I had a morning shoot, I went to put the files on the computer and the card got corrupted.
So I spent the night doing data recovery.
I did eventually get the photos off the card!
I WON!
But I was so mentally stressed and tired, I went to sleep.
So that leads us to today.
Things finally slowed down.
I only had one shoot, in the morning.
That got me up and out of bed.
Then I had the rest of the day to sit at home and finish this post and get everything published.
I think it all worked out in the end.
These photos and posts don’t have a due date.
I do them, when I do them.
Anyways, ONTO THE PHOTO!
This is part two of the Yellow project.
Last week was just the introduction.
A little yellow here and there.
But now it’s time to crank it up!
BAM!!
Look at that yellow!
It just slaps you.
POW!
It’s everywhere.
I love it!
This photo was shot at a new location a found.
I travel a lot for the photoshoots I do.
I see many places.
One of my trips took me past this road and I was like…..
….. “THAT’S THE SPOT!!”
I was constantly keeping an eye out for anything yellow.
This place was on an old dirt road.
No one travels down it.
It was surrounded by trees and fields.
No houses.
No people.
IT WAS PERFECT.
I could do what I need to do without anyone bothering me.
So, that’s what I did.
I traveled to this location and got the most out of it.
A lot of the other photos and the BTS video were shot there.
In the middle of nowhere.
It was great.
This photo almost didn’t happen.
Here’s a photo I shoot a week before…
There were some nice yellow flowers.
So, I captured the yellow.
But I ended up not liking the photo that much.
The angle wasn’t the best and I should have been facing the sun to match the other photos.
So I made a new plan to go back out to that road and try again.
However, once I got out there, I discovered the flowers were already dead.
Gone.
Withered away.
Not only that, I was chased by a rain cloud the way there.
So when I got there, the rain was about to hit.
The flowers were dead and it was raining.
A sad scene.
But I didn’t leave.
I just parked my car and waited.
Eventually, the rain stopped.
I got out to see what I could do and noticed this yellow tree.
…… “THAT’S IT!!”
And that was that.
Got the photo.
It all worked out.
NEVER GIVE UP!
Just be patient.
Things will work out.
For the editing, I went a bit crazy.
I wanted it to be high contrast and moody to match last week’s photo.
Since this photo is a continuation of that photo.
It makes sense!
I just started flipping switches, seeing what worked.
There wasn’t enough yellow, so I cranked up the yellow saturation and turned anything green into yellow.
That’s why there is so much yellow.
I made it all yellow!
After messing around for a while, I had the finished photo.
…….wait…..
That photo doesn’t look like the one I had as the official photo at the start of the post!
Well….. THAT’S BECAUSE I CHANGED MY MIND…. AGAIN.
While editing the videos for this project, I got to the part where I edited this photo.
I was comparing the two, me turned a little and me turned completely.
I thought to myself while editing the video….. Why didn’t I pick the one with me turned?
For the last photo, everyone picked the one with me angled.
It would match the previous photo a lot better!
I still don’t know why I pick the side profile one originally.
Anyways, good thing I edit things in camera raw!
It saves all the edits as a separate file.
So I just renamed the file to match the one with me angled and BOOM!
All the same edits were now on that photo.
COMPARE!!
Hover your mouse (the computer one) over the original picture to see the after editing one.
If you're on a touchscreen device, just tap on the picture. You may have to tap more than once.
In that photo, I already cropped it.
It mostly compared the lighting changes I did.
My next step was to turn it all YELLOW!
NOW COMPARE IT ALL!
Lastly, compare the photo with me side profile and me angled.
Did I make the right choice?
I THINK I DID.
It’s lovely.
TIME FOR THE VIDEO!
YES!!
It’s video time!
This project had 14 hours of video.
AND I UPLOADED ALL OF IT!!
YOU MUST WATCH THE WHOLE THING!!
……………………
……………
………
…..
…
.
Ok, maybe not.
I did get it down to an hour and a half.
From there, I watched the video and divided it up into five parts.
Each part slowly gets longer and longer.
This first part starts off with something that I’ve brought up before.
In the iPad project and Picture 467, I mention the lockdown and the quarantine.
Of course, I documented my reaction to everything.
But I was making the yellow project at the time, so those videos were for that.
That is what starts off the video.
It’s a sad start.
I was about to do the yellow project and BOOM!
Shutdown.
Then the chaos of everything zapped my motivation to do anything.
It was an interesting situation.
ANYWAYS!
WATCH MY SADNESS!
THAT’S IT!
Come back soon for the next part.
I’ll make sure it comes out on Wednesday this time.
