HOWDY!
Sorry I vanished for a month or two.
The same thing happened last year.
It seems to happen during Winter.
Maybe it’s because….
I HATE WINTER!
It’s gross and dull outside.
Roads are a mess.
There’s nothing to do.
Photo shoots slow down.
So on so forth.
I could keep going.
Because of this hatred for Winter, I tend to not do anything during the Winter.
This is why for the past few years, I just vanish.
I just don’t want to deal with it.
ANYWAYS!
I’m here now, hello!
I did leave on a cliffhanger.
I just got into the house.
And BOOM!
And I vanish.
How’s happened during these past three months?
WELL….
I’LL TELL YOU!
………………..
……………..
…………
………
…..
…
.
Nothing.
Nothing has happened.
The end.
Good night.
Ok, a few things have happened.
I did get the house put together.
Hung up curtains, bought kitchen appliances, shower curtain, plunger, blah blah.
I got the house to a “livable” state.
It’s functional.
All my things are in place.
I have my dedicated areas for things.
All the spaces are laid out.
This place is now my home.
Would you like a tour?
WATCH THE VIDEO!
That’ll be at the end of this post.
That’s also why I vanished.
The video took too long to edit.
There was a lot going on.
Work things, getting the house ready, CHRISTMAS.
Many things.
Now that I’m all settled in, I had time to get everything edited.
I should show the house in its current state.
So y’all can see what it’s like after 3 months.
PHOTO TIME.
I’m typing this at 9 pm the day before upload day, so the photos might not look the best.
But it’s just a quick tour...
That’s the living room.
I got the futon from another photographer on the team.
The mess on the couch is my work things and mail.
And then on the floor are new curtains that I bought.
I haven’t hung them up yet, I’m mad.
I got red ones for my room and when they arrived THEY WEREN’T RED.
They sent me tan ones.
I DIDN’T WANT TAN ONES.
Anyways, moving on to the kitchen.
It’s a mess as well, but it’s my mess.
There’s a cake hidden on the table.
I was craving cake, so I bought one.
I do what I want.
You can see the snack corner as well.
I NEED MY SNACKS.
Onto the bedroom.
Looks almost like my bedroom at the house, the layout is the same.
Just… smaller… and without my computer desk.
You can see the clothes rack that I had to get because the closets aren’t big enough for my clothes.
On the floor are current little projects I’m working on.
When I do a project, it ends up being its own pile on the floor.
That way I always see it and it reminds me about the project.
Lastly, the office.
Where I spend most of my time.
I got my awards up and again, little piles of stuff.
Can’t lose anything if it’s all on the floor in plain sight.
The desk has some snacks as well.
THAT’S IT.
There’s also the bathroom, but it’s not that exciting.
Same thing with the basement.
As you can see by the photos, I’m nicely settled in.
This is my space.
SPEAKING OF SPACES!
Photo time.
I was gifted an old Polaroid camera.
I bought some film for it, but the film didn’t fit.
Turns out they don’t make super vintage film anymore.
Even the substitutes are gone.
So, now I had film that I couldn’t use.
Instead of letting it go to waste, I bought a new Polaroid camera.
I’ve been having fun with it.
It’s fancy with Bluetooth and manual settings.
So, what you see above are the first photos I shot.
They are of me in my different spaces of the house right when I officially moved it.
After each space was done, I shot a photo in it.
Hung up the curtains, get a photo of me looking out the window.
Got new bed covers, get a photo of me in there.
Put together the kitchen table.
Show me sitting at it.
Simple.
I do have other photos showing the other spaces, but those will come later.
My favorite is the top left one.
I wanted to do a portrait.
Those types of photos are what Polaroids are best at.
People shoot photos of their groups of friends at a party.
So on.
But I hate parties… and I have no friends.
So, I shot a photo of myself.
This one is interesting.
Normally for these photos, I pose all serious and whatnot.
My naturally resting face is just… meh.
:-|
That’s why I’m never really smiling in my photos.
I keep things natural and that’s my face.
Just…. Meh.
HOWEVER!
In that top left photo… THERE’S A SMILE.
DO YOU SEE IT?!?!
I didn’t even know I did it.
I just got in front of the camera and posed.
When it popped out and developed, I saw the smile.
It threw me off for a second.
What does it mean?
Am I truly happy now that I’m in this house???
I THINK SO.
Isn’t that interesting!??!
That’s why it’s my favorite one so far.
Onto the editing.
Just because it’s a Polaroid, doesn’t mean I didn’t edit the photos.
I thought about scanning them and then using Photoshop to assemble the photo.
But then I would have to buy a scanner.
I don’t have time for that, so I just laid the photos on the floor and shot them with my good camera.
Then I tweaked the photos a little bit.
COMPARE!
AIN’T THAT NEAT?!?!
I like it.
It’s a good start to this phase of the project.
There’s more to come.
ONTO THE VIDEO!
It’s a bit long at 30 minutes.
The last video ended with my stepping foot into the house for the first time.
Well, technically the second time because I shot the listing photos.
Part 2 starts right after that and shows me getting this place into shape.
Internet, security system, curtains, kitchen stuff, so on.
Everything is covered.
You can watch the video below.
That’s all!
Part 3 will be ready just in time for the 13th anniversary of starting the YouTube Channel and this blog.
Well, the original blog.
So I’ll make a post for that.
March 13th, mark the calendar.
I’ll see you then!
