Picture 491...

Hello there.

How are things?

Don’t tell me, I don’t care.

:-|

Sorry.

I’m grumpy.

My car died.

This is the third water pump to go out.

It’s time for a new car.

So now I’m worrying about that.

Can I get a new one?

CAN I AFFORD IT?!?!!

I don’t know.

We’ll cross that hurdle when we get there.

It’ll cost 4000 to fix everything wrong with the car.

I told them to fix it to the point where it’ll run.

That’ll only cost 700, which is better than 4000.

So they’ll be keeping my car for a day or two

I’m trapped at home now.

Which will give me time to do things.

I need to finish mowing the yard.

I need to clean the house.

I need to edit the racing videos.

And type this blog post!

The photo that I shot has been done for two months.

I’ve just been so busy that I haven’t had time to edit the video and type this post.

Then I finally got the video edited a week ago and I still didn’t have time to publish it or TYPE THIS POST.

But now that I’m stuck here, I have time.

I’m going to work on the yard first before I get too distracted.

I need to use the weedwhacker to finish the yard.

So I’ll use it till it dies, then plug it in and start typing this again.

Ok?

Ok.

(30 minutes later)

My arms hurt.

I’m too weak and feeble for all this yard work.

I did record a quick demonstration of what I’m doing.

I bought this little old-school push mower…

But my grass got too long again.

It kept getting clogged.

However, when I went back over where I mowed to fix some spots it worked fine.

I might have to mow the grass once a week, maybe twice a week.

Just to keep it short for the push mower.

I’m almost done with the yard, but the weedwhacker died.

I’ll go back out later.

Anyways, things haven’t been too eventful besides the car dying.

I’ve just been living life.

I’m being swarmed by centipedes though.

Once a week I find one crawling around with their tiny legs.

So, I got some safe indoor bug spray.

I’ve been spraying it here and there.

Basically, I’ve been doing normal house stuff!

It’s amazing!

I’m doing HOUSE STUFF… FOR…. MY OWN HOUSE.

We crossed over six months of being here.

I’m noticing my new day-to-day routines.

I’ve fully adjusted to this new life.

Now we just have 29 ½ more years to go!

PHOTO TIME!

FINALLY!

You get to see the photo that’s been sitting there waiting to be uploaded for TWO MONTHS!

It’s a good one too.

I had this photo shoot at a lake house all the way in Michigan City.

It was late in the day so it was the last one I had.

So, I looked to see if there were any beaches nearby.

Two years ago, I shot this photo in Union Pier…

It looks pretty cool.

Since I’ll be much closer to Chicago this time, I wanted to see what I could see.

Luckily, there was a tiny public beach just down the road from the house.

It was set.

I do the shoot and go to the beach.

I even brought a change of clothes in case I wanted to shoot a photo with me in it.

The day went smoothly and it was time to get to the beach.

No one was there when I got there so I had time to chill and soak in this sight…

AIN’T THAT JUST NEAT!?!?!?

There is was, Chicago.

Looming in the distance.

I’ll put both photos here in a galley so you can compare them.

I was happy.

That’s all I need.

But since there weren’t any people around, I WANTED MORE.

So I found a nice secluded spot and shot the photo you saw of me on the rocks.

There’s a lot more to it than that.

I shot the photo, then I got behind the camera and waited for any cool waves.

Maybe some splashes on the rocks.

Then when I edit the photo, I can combine the best waves and splashes into one photo.

And that’s what I did.

The photo of me on the rocks didn’t have any nice waves in the back.

However, there was one photo with cool waves and some splashes.

Two in one!

So I cut me out of the boring photo and placed me into that one.

Then I thought…. There could be more splashes.

There was a blank spot in the bottom left with nothing going on.

I looked through the photos and I actually captured a splash in that very spot.

So I pasted that into the photo as well.

AND BOOM!

The photo was complete.

…. Or so I thought.

I tend to take a break from looking at a photo for a little while.

Then I come back after a day or two and look at it again to see it if still holds up with a cleared mind.

I did some more last-minute adjustments to polish things and added in a border.

I don’t why I put the border in.

I was messing around to see what worked, and when I did it I couldn't turn it off.

The photo truly felt complete with it on.

I did think for a good 15 minutes about if the border should be black or white.

I went with white.

Alright, that’s all I did.

Compare all the changes I did from the original.

Lastly, compare between a black border or a white border.

Did I pick the right one?

I think so.

ONTO THE VIDEO!

The video got a little long.

I recap what I've been doing, then I get around to shooting the photo and editing the photo.

Simple.

BUT THE VIDEO KEEPS GOING.

This was all done two months ago.

This means I suddenly had two more months of videos by the time I got to piecing the video together.

I think I got it all trimmed down pretty good.

It’s still 40 minutes long.

You can watch the video below...

THAT IS ALL!

I do have an idea for the next project, I mentioned it at the end of the video.

I’ve been shooting a bunch of film photos and I want to turn that into something.

Who knows, we’ll see.

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
